Recycling Rules

Rules for recycling:

• All receptacles containing recycling should be placed between the curb and sidewalk the night before pickup.
• Please make sure to not include contamination in your recycling!
• If any materials were left by the recycling truck, it very well may be because you did not follow a rule of accepted recycling (ex: did not break down large cardboard boxes).
• The older, blue 20 Gallon recycling buckets are gradually being phased out.  They are being replaced with two 65-gallon wheeled totes; one is to be used for paper/cardboard, the other is for plastic/aluminum.  According to Somerset County, this process will take 2 to 3 years to complete.
