Chief McMahon Reminds Residents to Take Safety Precautions on Halloween

Chief Michael McMahon would like to remind residents of the safety precautions for all those participating in Halloween festivities.  Here are some suggestions to parents of Trick or Treaters   

• Wear light-colored clothing that is short enough to prevent tripping, and add reflective tape to the sides, front, and back of the costume.  
• Make sure children can see well through masks or cosmetics. 
• Adults should accompany young children.
• Go out in daylight and carry a flashlight after nightfall.
• Watch for traffic
• Examine all candy before allowing children to eat it.
• Only give and accept wrapped or packaged candy. 
• Keep control of pets.  They may react unexpectedly to children in costumes.
