James Fox Eagle Scout

At the July 14th meeting, the Township Committee recognized James Fox, a Senior at Hillsborough High School and a member of Boy Scout Troop 89, for recently earning the rank of Eagle Scout.

“The Township Committee extends our sincere congratulations to James Fox  for having achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.  This is an honor for both himself and for those who guided him,” said Mayor Doug Tomson.

James’ Eagle Scout project consisted of building a trophy case for the Hillsborough Middle School Music Department. The trophy case was 6 feet by 5 feet with glass doors and LED lights. The project took 23 volunteers and 151 hours to complete.  In addition, he has served as Senior Patrol Leader, Librarian, Historian, Webmaster and Junior Assistant Scoutmaster.

James is an active member of three Somerset County 4H clubs, the Model Rockets club and Technology clubs.  He serves as an example to the youth of Hillsborough Township through his high level of leadership and community service.

“We are very proud that James is a member of our community,” added Mayor Tomson.
