Hillsborough Township’s Community Assistance Network Releases a Public Service Announcement Highlighting Service Offerings

Hillsborough’s Community Assistance Network (C.A.N.) bustled with activity at the end of the year, but that did not stop their creativity or the continued need to raise awareness about the programs offered through the Township.

“I am pleased to share this informational video with our community, highlighting the service offerings available to our residents through the Community Assistance Network, both in the form of assistance as well as volunteer opportunities,” stated Mayor Shawn Lipani.

The informational video was created as basically a 2 minute public service announcement highlighting the programs of the Community Assistant Network (C.A.N.), formerly known as the Food Bank.

“As the public health crisis of the COVID-19 pandemic continues, it is important that those individuals who are in need of assistance are aware of the services available through the Community Assistance Network,” added Mayor Lipani.

Reduced work hours and virtual school schedules have left many residents unable to return to jobs, and are now depending on a reduced income to provide the basic necessities for their families from already stretched budgets.

The Community Assistance Network is reminding residents that if you find that your financial situation has changed, there is a helping hand from this program.  Please contact the Community Assistance Network at the Social Services Department as soon as possible at 908-369-3880.

If you find yourself in a position to lend support to the Community Assistance Network, by either providing  donated funds, food or gifts, please visit the Social Services page on the Township website.
