February 21-27 is National Engineers Week

The Engineering Department would like the residents to know that February 21 – 27 is National Engineers Week. The Township Engineering Department is comprised of a team of civil engineers and technicians. Their goal is to protect the public and environmental health while improving and maintaining new and existing road, sidewalk, and stormwater infrastructure.  

Engineers of today are now improving stormwater design by utilizing “green infrastructure” which reduces flooding by allowing runoff to percolate back into the ground which generates less runoff. It also filters the runoff before entering streams and rivers.  

Engineers are always looking to improve the quality of the environment and perform proper reviews of new projects submitted by developers. The Township is adopting a new stormwater ordinance which now requires “green infrastructure” to be a part of all new developments.
