Clean Communities Update

Public works is in its final round of the Senior Curbside pickup this week. We enjoyed the use of Raritan Boro's former packer truck that was given to the township through a shared services agreement. This has sped up the operation tremendously and allowed us to meet our deadlines. Plenty of dates are still available for the Township Clean up days at the Auten Road facility.

A big thank you to our own Clean Communities Coordinator, Sheila Castellano, and to the 60 volunteers and Public Works and Parks employees that participated in the Earth Day Clean up through the New Jersey Clean Communities Program this past weekend. Roughly 2 tons of litter was collected and disposed of. It is great to see the growing interest building in this worthwhile program. The town is very large and we need all of the volunteer help we can get to make and keep the town clean.

Another program that took place on Saturday was our Tree Seedling giveaway. Over 100 families took part in this DEP sponsored program at Ann VanMiddlesworth Park. Thank you also to the Girl Scouts who volunteered for participating in the event and helping out.
