Christmas Tree Recycling Tips

Organic material, such as a live Christmas tree can take 50-100 years to decompose in a landfill. Instead, be sure to recycle your tree by chipping it yourself or dropping it off at one of the Somerset County Park Commission locations at either Colonial Park in Franklin Township or North Branch Park in Bridgewater. Mulch and chips produced from the recycled trees are used throughout the park to protect and nurture plant life. Mulch will be available at drop-off sites on a first-come, first-serve basis for residents who are recycling their trees.
