Engineering Permit Required for a Change in Grading

If you are planning to change the grading of your property you will need an Engineering permit.

Any change in topography, also known as grading, can adversely impact adjoining property.  Regrading of a property over 5,000 square feet requires a professionally prepared engineered grading/topography plan and a Somerset County Soil Conservation Permit.  If the proposed regrading is under 5,000 square feet, a sketch showing the proposed regrading will be required to verify there will be no impacts to adjoining properties. Contact the Engineering Department for more information.
