Puddling in Backyards

Public Works is experiencing increased call volume concerning above-average amounts of water puddling in yards. Much of this puddling is because winter temperatures don’t allow the ground to absorb the rain This is especially true with the increase in significant rain storms.  

Now is a good time to recognize and note areas of concern in your yard and consider regrading to ensure the proper pitch is achieved when the warm weather arrives.  Also, be sure to inspect and repair all gutters and downspouts so they are working properly and piped away from the house.
