Hillsborough Township Police to Hold Blanket Drive
Blankets to Be Kept in Patrol Cars for Use in Emergencies
Hillsborough Police are collecting clean, gently used, solid-color sheets and blankets to keep in patrol cars for use in emergencies.
“There are certain instances where members of our patrol squad use sheets or blankets,” said Chief Mike McMahon. “This blanket drive will help to ensure there are always blankets in our patrol cars should a need arise.“
The blanket drive will begin the week of May 24th and conclude on June 3rd. Bins will be placed in the front lobby of the Municipal Building and also at the rear of the building outside the Police Department.
Additionally, members of the Police Department will be collecting blankets at the Memorial Day commemoration on May 25th and the Green Living and Wellness Fair on June 1st.
“Hillsborough residents always come through for our Police Department,” said Committeewoman Catherine Payne. “We look forward to a great response to the blanket drive.” Any blankets not being used by the Police are being donated to an animal shelter.
