Requirements for Replacing Air Conditioner

If your A/C stops working and needs to be replaced in an emergency, it is a requirement to notify the Building Department before starting the work. Once the Department has received notification, the work may begin. The permit application needs to be submitted by the licensed contractor within 72 hours of the initial notification. This procedure only applies to "like for like" replacement of HVAC.
