Political Civility

Hillsborough Police would like to remind residents that it is illegal to steal political signs. Signs posted on private property may only be removed by the property owner, and signs posted on public property may only be removed by state or local personnel who maintain that property.  Anyone caught stealing these signs can be charged as a disorderly person, fined up to $1000, and serve jail time of up to six months.
